Sleeping Beauty

“Her name is Aurora, and she is so beautiful…”
Welcome to the world, Rory!  When we found out that our friend Lauren was pregnant, my friend Sarah and I both jumped at the chance to take newborn pictures!  Rory was the perfect client, nice and sleepy!

Toddlers are great - they are curious about everything.  Ok, that’s not entirely true.  They are inherently not curious about having their picture taken.  The lens of the camera is fascinating, but only if they can look right into it, touch it, and then that’s where the interest ends.  Nevertheless I still love them (could be because I have a toddler, but really I do think that age is fun!)  As long as you go into the session without any expectations and let them lead the way it always turns out okay.  Yesterday I got to take pictures of little G and his older brother and sister.  Here’s a sneak peek from their session:

Facebook

Lately I’ve been reconnecting with friends on Facebook.  Turns out my friend J and I both ended up back here in good old Redding!  I was excited when she asked if I would take pictures of her family.  I have to admit I was a little nervous because I had never taken pictures of a family of six before, and three of them were boys!  But you know what?  It was so much fun.  Her daughter even helped me find perfect locations.   It was hard to narrow down my favorites, but here are (quite a ) few:

It’s the busy season…

…and I love it!  I have four sessions just this weekend!

I’ve gotten in the habit of writing before I post pictures and so of course I want to say something witty (wait, am I ever witty?  Am I just kidding myself?) but I feel like I’m starting to post the same thing over and over again.   Lovely family, beautiful children, wonderful time.  And yet, it’s so true!   Yesterday though not only did I have a lovely family, a beautiful baby, and a wonderful time, I also had a great little helper.  While I was looking for the best light, I had little miss Boo helping me out.  She was the perfect model.

Here’s a sneak peek from your session - this first one’s for you, Boo:

Is there anything cuter than pigtails?

Maybe someday Madeline will have enough hair to make pigtails that don’t look like antennae.  Paige definitely has her beat in that department!  I had the opportunity to take some indoor shots today and had some gorgeous window light.  Even though I know we have to go back out for a take-two on the family shots, I hope you guys are happy with the beautiful shots I got of Paige.  Here’s a sneak peek:
