I had my first maternity session last night. We had such a great time (well, I did - I sure hope you guys did too!) Here are a few shots that I just had to edit. Love them - and it certainly doesn’t hurt that K is an absolutely gorgeous mom to be!

Maddie’s first ponytail. At 16 months she finally had enough hair to create this awesome hairstyle. I’m sure it’s not surprising to anyone that I had to take her outside and get a few pictures. And no, I didn’t bribe her with the apple to get her to let me take pictures. I let her play with the apple while I gave her a bath in the kitchen sink. Hey, whatever works, right?!

I felt a little like the city mouse visiting the country mouse today - it was so much fun! I had a session at a photographer’s dream location, a house with a huge barn, stream, farm animals, tractors, and the best: cute kids! Here’s a sneak peek:

And one of the gorgeous family:

Ok, these pictures are too much fun. Last one from this session, I promise. I think…

If you hadn’t noticed, I don’t often get the opportunity to “torture” (his word, not mine) boys with my camera. Yesterday we went out to a state park near here for a walk and I finally got a few pictures of N.

My sister is here visiting from Indiana so today Miss Madeline and I took her to Turtle Bay. We had intended on walking through the museum and then the gardens, but of course Madeline had other ideas (they didn’t involve the stroller or the gardens…) We still had fun and will miss her so much when she goes back home next week.

Playing peek-a-boo:

That wall of windows at the end of the museum lets in such beautiful light! I wish I had a wall of windows in my house.
We sure do get our fair share of them during the summer, but it’s still exciting to pull out the summer clothes and play outside on a warm spring day. I’m the first to admit that summer isn’t my favorite season, but I love spring - I just wish it lasted longer. It seems like we get a week or two of moderately warm days and then two or three thousand months of blistering heat.
Here’s Miss Madeline out enjoying the sunshine. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
